Financial Gifts

The Manatee County Emergency Support Group, Inc (MCESG) is an auxiliary support unit for tactical, administrative and logistical communications in any emergency, declared or undeclared.  However, we depend on community and government support for all of our programs.  Your financial gifts are used solely to fund the development, test, maintenance and staging expenses for these efforts.

• EmComm Multimedia Emergency Communications Messaging Service (Voice and Data) to the Florida Department of Emergency Management and all Emergency Operations Centers.

Maintain, Demonstrate and Test a Robust Voice and Data messaging capability to and from the Manatee County Emergency Operations Center to all other State of Florida EOCs and the State Emergency Response Team in Tallahassee, FL. All Incident Command System Message formats and content are required. The most recent examples include activations for Hurricane Debby, Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton in 2024.

• EOC Liaison to all Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) and Evacuation Shelters

Provide real-time situational awareness and communications capabilities to all Manatee County Evacuation Shelters and Community Emergency Response Teams. This includes On-site operators at Special Needs Shelters. All Liaisons shall be equipped and trained to provide two-way Voice and Data Multimedia Messages between the distributed locations across the county into the Emergency Operations Center for distribution and tasking of Law Enforcement, Fire, Rescue, Public Works and all Emergency Support Functions. The most recent examples include activations for Hurricanes Debby, Helene and Milton.

• Auxiliary Communications (AuxComm) Capabilities for Incident Recovery and Civil Unrest Impacts

Recruit, Train, Qualify, Equip and Maintain a volunteer team of Emergency Communicators to provide reserve talent and deployable resources from the Manatee County Emergency Operations Center to any location in Manatee County. This team will maintain credentials through the FEMA Cyber and Infrastructure Security office to serve as a deployable resource for all State of Florida jurisdictions and the State Emergency Response Team.

• Situational Awareness collection of corroborated information for work-flow prioritization and input to the Common Operating Picture.

Provide priority messaging service for Situational Reporting to all Emergency Support Functions and Partners in both government and industry. Examples include the National Weather Service (NWS), the Florida State Agricultural Response Team (SART), the Port of Tampa, Power Companies, and Hospitals. In the coming year, we are planning to expand our Emergency Communications capabilitiers to include the rural areas of both Manatee and Sarasota counties in support of our Agricultural Partners. This EmComms expansion is for the boot-heel area and the Myakka City community to better serve the horse-mounted patrol of Agriculture Officers in their search and rescue mission.
